DEVTOBER 05 - 08

Alright, here’s another round of Devtober posts. Making some good progress. :)

[05]  Episode III summed up in two words: Cliff Stuff. All I ever do is cliff stuff. Save for a few twitchy areas, most of the south part of the map is complete (cliffwise). Look how much neater it is than on day 1!

[06]  Got tired of cliffs so I made an inspector to inspect the cliffs (and other things). (I’ve been using this CONSTANTLY since I added it, good times)

[07]  Today. Today was gonna be the day I fixed cliffs once and for all. (reeeeeally hoping to wrap up cliff bugs in the next few days….)

[08]  Holy crap, I think I fixed it. “Negative” cliffs (z height values under 0) were causing so much trouble. I solved it like a true hackzor: make EVERYTHING positive. “Sea level” is now z 96 instead of z 0. Suddenly it all works.

I’m ironing out a ton of smaller wrinkles now. This change affects loading, object placement, etc. Made lots of good progress on those today though!
