hey dude, love the blog, I’ve had a brief look at what you’ve been making here and it looks awesome!!!!! Now I used to do some programming myself years ago, and I’d like to revisit it as a hobby and i was looking at starting something similar to what you’re doing. I just had a few questions about your game and I was wondering what language/languages are you writing in? I’ve never had any experience with gamemaker at all and I’m looking to begin by just experimenting, also…

GameMaker has its own scripting language called GML (GameMaker Language, appropriately, haha). It’s a little like other scripting languages, such as JavaScript or Lua. It’s very easy to get into, especially if you’ve done any programming before. While it has its quirks, it gets the job done.

Beginning by experimentation is perfect. I’d suggest pulling up some tutorials and walking through them step by step. Also I have a post about getting startedthat you should read! :)
