Hello Daniel! I have been following progress on The Waking Cloak everyday since i found it, as I am a big fan of Zelda, and I fell in love with your game’s Oracle/Link’s Awakening art style. I think the game so far looks super promising, and your streams inspired me to purchase Gamemaker studio 2! I have 2 questions: 1. When will you do a new development stream? 2. Since you are gathering a small fan base, are you open to the idea of making a Discord server to make communication easy? Cheers :)

Hey! Thanks so much for following along. :) It means a lot to me. And I’m so pleased you were inspired to pick up GameMaker–I hope you enjoy it!

Answer 1 - Gamedev streaming) Still TBD! Previously, it was based off when my wife was at work, since I don’t like to inconvenience her by streaming while she’s home. However, I’m considering doing lunchtime streams 2x a week (when I work from home). That may start up soon, but it depends on some scheduling stuff in the coming weeks.I will announce here and on Twitterwhen we get started again! :)

Answer 2 - Discord server) Here’s a secret–I’ve already started the process of creating a Discord server! :D However, I want to be smart about this. I’d hate to start up a server and have it stall out from lack of momentum/users. I’ve seen similar situations where a dev will set up a subreddit which only ends up with a handful of active subscribers–it can deflate some of the interest in the game, especially for newcomers. With that in mind, I have three milestones that I want to accomplish before I launch the server:

1. 2-3 equipment mechanics ready (probably sword and one of the staff spells). This is so that I have some meatier stuff that I (and you guys!) can pass around the internet.
2. A thread up on TIGSource and on the GameMaker Forums. This is pretty reliant on #1, but should be easy enough to complete.
3. A certain number of devlog followers so that the starting audience for the server is higher. Follower growth here has been quite strong, so I’m optimistic!
   

In short–I’ll probably launch the Discord server sometime in the next couple months. Once again, keep an eye on here and/or Twitter, because I’ll make sure to announce it in both places.
