Just found this blog, what’s the game’s details? I’m curious.

Hey! Thanks for your question. So the short answer is that this game is an action adventure with an overworld, dungeons, and so forth. Pretty similar to the old 2D Legend of Zelda games, actually. Here’s the description I’ve been using:

The Waking Cloak is a retro-styled action adventure in which you find yourself stranded on a strange island. Night has taken over, monsters are out, and the island’s inhabitants are terrified. You’re the only one who can travel between night and day to save them, aided by a worn and tattered garment–the waking cloak!

• Explore a deeply interwoven world filled with secret caves, dungeons, and high towers.
• Discover magical equipment, like a strange chalice which allows you to drink effects from the elements on the island–and others, each with their own unique functionality.
• Solve puzzles spread across the day and night
• Help a group of refugees survive the island

I started developing the idea in 2015, and started working on it in earnest in August 2016. I’m the sole developer, but my brother helped me come up with a lot of the original concept.

I’m working in GameMaker Studio 2, which has proven to be an excellent engine for a 2D game like this (some other games made with GameMaker are Hyper Light Drifter and Undertale).
