Town Tileset Mockup!

Town Tileset Mockup!

Look, I’m a wilderness guy. Put me in an old forest of ancient trees covered in moss, and I’m about as happy as it gets. My favorite moments even in games are spent wandering around in the spaces between civilization. So when I say that this mockup is the one I’m most excited about so far, it means something!

It’s also the one that has possibly taken me the longest, and has been a huge struggle. (Fountains are freaking impossible!) But I couldn’t be more happy with this–it’s starting to feel like a game.

A few towns are planned for The Waking Cloak, each with a different aesthetic, but this is a piece of the main one (as of yet unnamed). Between talking to townsfolk, shopping, getting amulets appraised, being summoned by the mayor/king, and exploring nooks and crannies, you’ll probably spend a fair bit of time here!

Finally, here’s a gif of me flailing around and trying a bunch of different stuff as I developed the look and feel. I spent a horrifying amount of time working on that wall.
