Yo!

Yo! Here’s a gif of the (VERY WIP) roll attack. The process has been a bit different for this one, since I cribbed animations from my roll and my attack–kinda nice to have that foundation instead of starting from scratch. But I still did a basic sketch (in red) of where I want the sword hitbox to be, and then used that to fill in the gaps in the middle. Remember that the sword “smear” is the hitbox… so the roll attack hits a bit wider than your standard attack. Plus it hits harder too! Of course, it takes longer to actually do than a normal attack, so it wouldn’t be worth it to do roll attacks constantly. But it makes a good opening strike, or a swift comeback after a dodge!
